Man United get Michael Olise transfer boost with announcement imminent – but hurdle remains

Manchester United look set for a transfer push for Michael Olise if they can clear a major hurdle.

Manager Erik ten Hag’s future is the story dominating the headlines at Old Trafford, with a final decision yet to be made on his future before the summer window opens. Links with numerous targets have emerged in recent weeks, with Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite appearing to be the priority.

Benfica midfielder Joao Neves is another player of interest to United, with Casemiro expected to leave and clarity on Sofyan Amrabat’s future yet to be provided after his loan spell ends. Benjamin Sesko, Jean-Clair Todibo and Michael Olise are just a few others who have been linked with some updates on the latter coming to light.

Along with United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City are also in the race, but journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Blues have the upper hand. However, as our sister site football.london have reported, talks have yet to open between Chelsea and Crystal Palace over a potential summer move for Olise.

United are interested in the Frenchman, but as they have yet to make a decision on Ten Hag, any transfer deal is not a priority and is therefore likely to be delayed. Olise, Eberechi Eze and Jean-Philippe Mateta, all of whom finished the season in excellent form, have seen transfer interest pour in, although Palace hope they can keep hold of the trio.

Despite these worries, the Eagles are actively looking to strengthen their squad. Oliver Glasner’s first summer signing appears to have been decided along with Daichi Kamada to arrive at Selhurst Park on a free transfer, with the Japan international completing the first part of his medical on Monday.
