Mohamed Salah appears to confirm hair transplant as Liverpool star shows off bold new look

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah could be staying at Anfield this summer, but that may not have stopped him from making a major personal decision, with some onlookers convinced he is undergoing a hair transplant.

Salah appeared on Monday evening at the service of Egypt. He will be one of the few major stars Arne Slot can count on from the first day of pre-season on July 1, but the forward had a 2026 World Cup qualifier to play before heading out on the summer break.

He played an important role against Guinea-Bissau, scoring a 70th-minute equalizer to keep Egypt’s unbeaten start to the qualifying campaign intact. However, that’s not what Liverpool fans noticed.

A number of supporters have speculated on X that Salah could undergo a hair transplant procedure, aimed at preventing baldness and restoring hairlines. “Prem is not ready for the Salah hair transplant next season,” noted IndiLFC, and he was far from alone in making the observation.

In the immediate term, Salah clearly has a lot less hair than last season. Liverpool fans initially assumed he simply decided to sport a bold new look.

But it is consistent with a possible hair transplant procedure. Those who decide to go through the initial process lose hair at the point of treatment before new hair grows.
