Rare coin collector’s 50p scam warning, as Brits said it’s worth £25,000

Many people are willing to shell out a large sum for that particular coin to complete their collection.

The Kew Gardens 50p piece for example is one such coin that can fetch hundreds and in some cases could even be worth a small fortune. With just under 210,000 of these coins minted, it’s no wonder the British are keen to find them.

However, a TikTok user has now issued a warning that a particular coin could be valued at £25,000 online.

TikTok’s @CoinCollectingWizard, who has an impressive 139,000 followers, highlighted the Brexit 2020 coin, which has over 5 million in circulation, asking: “Why on earth would it be worth £25,000 you ask? The 50p you probably had in your change is showing up in places with extortionate price tags.”

He went on to stress the importance of doing your homework because anyone can slap on those ridiculous price tags.

Ge said: “But that’s why you have to do your own research because anyone can pick up those ridiculous price tags and I promise you this 50p is only worth 50p.”

The rare coin collector pointed out, however, that there is a version of the coin that could be worth £25,000, one where the date is not 31 January 2020, but finding it is like looking for a needle in a haystack. hay.

Concluding his advice, he said: “There is however a very rare version of the coin where the date does not say 31st January 2020. But it is very unlikely to ever be found, so don’t fall for these crazy prices. .”
