Falmouth has Cornwall’s ‘finest penthouse’ and it’s for sale

A penthouse rumored to have been purchased by pop singer Robbie Williams has hit the market. The spectacular seafront apartment in a cruise ship shaped building on Falmouth seafront has an enormous 53 meter long balcony and some of the finest sea views in the county.

Shaped like the curved prow of a ship, the liner has suites with incredible uninterrupted panoramic views across Falmouth Bay from Pendennis Headland, Gyllyngvase Beach just below and as far as Manacles on the Lizard Peninsula.

It was built a few years ago on the site of the former Falmouth Beach Hotel, which operated on the site between 1984 and 2012, which replaced an original Victorian nautical-themed hotel known as the Pentargan Hotel. The four-bedroom duplex penthouse comes with a glass-railed balcony. It also comes with a price tag of £1.85m.

Truro-based estate agent Lillicrap Chilcott, who is handling the sale, said: “This is without a doubt the most refined and truly extraordinary duplex penthouse in Cornwall.

“In this landmark landmark building along Falmouth’s prestigious seafront, in a truly eagle-eyed grandstand, you’ll enjoy totally uninterrupted panoramic views of Falmouth Bay.”

The Penthouse has four bedrooms and three bathroom or shower rooms on the top two floors, with an enormous glass balustraded balcony that watches the sunrise in the east, the sunset in the west and the most delightful sea view. Also included in the price are two allocated covered parking spaces and a surf shop.

When The Liner was under construction, there were rumors that pop star Robbie Williams had bought one of the penthouses. At the time Danica Clements, group marketing manager for developer Acorn, said: “I’m afraid we’re not at liberty to say. Due to the development’s unique location, we have had interest from a wide range of buyers.

“Acorn bought the site when it was already planning, however, we love the striking design and concept of the building looking like the prow of a ship, which seemed to fit perfectly with the context of the location. Modern architecture is often very divisive, but these apartments have also been designed to maximize the enjoyment of the stunning sea view for residents.”

This is not the first time that an apartment in The Liner has appeared on the market. Last year, Lillicrap Chilcott also marketed an apartment with a 53-metre glass balcony. The flat, made up of two smashed flats, was on the market for £1.25million.

It is understood the original owners bought the property off-plan from the developers and arranged to put two flats together, which created 1,358 square meters of living space with an open-plan kitchen, dining and living room, as and two en-suite bedrooms.
