Manchester United pre-season figures confirmed as uncertainty surrounding Erik ten Hag continues

Manchester United will begin their 2024/25 pre-season in just over a month, despite uncertainty surrounding Erik ten Hag’s future.

Ten Hag has been in charge at Old Trafford for two years and INEOS are carrying out a review of the season to determine whether he will stick with the Dutchman.

United ended last season by winning the FA Cup, which was a second trophy for the Ten Hag, but they finished eighth in the Premier League and recorded a clean sheet.

The Reds could have a new manager by the time pre-season starts, but Ten Hag could also oversee his third pre-season at the club if he gets the backing of the board.

United have already confirmed five pre-season dates. They will play games in Norway and Scotland before flying to North America for a tour of the United States.

The pre-season program will begin on July 15 with a trip to Trondheim in Norway, where United will play Rosenborg in front of their huge Scandinavian support.

Another trip to Murrayfield – United played there last summer – to Edinburgh, Scotland, will take place on July 20, with Rangers playing United for the first time since 2010.

After that, United will fly to the United States and play Arsenal in Los Angeles on July 28, which will be followed by a clash with Real Betis on August 1 in San Diego.

The US tour will conclude on August 3 against fierce rivals Liverpool in Colombia, with the friendly being played at the University of South Carolina’s Williams-Brice Stadium.

United played a total of eight pre-season friendlies last summer and more fixtures could be added to the 2024 schedule to ensure the squad is ready for the new campaign.

The 2024/25 Premier League season will begin on August 17 and the fixture list for the season will be announced on Tuesday next week.
