Police issue update after ‘woman found on fire’ in Bradford McDonald’s toilet

POLICE have issued an update after a “woman was found on fire” in a Bradford McDonald’s toilet.

The restaurant in Ingleby Road, Girlington, was cordoned off by police following a concern about the safety report on Monday afternoon.

Officers attended and after further investigation determined that a woman was “found burning in a toilet”.

After the fire was extinguished, the woman was taken to hospital with “significant injuries”.

The Telegraph & Argus was told by West Yorkshire Police this morning that the injuries are not life-threatening.

The incident is being treated as non-suspicious.

McDonald’s is open as usual today.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “A woman has suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries following an incident at a McDonalds restaurant on Ingleby Road yesterday.

“No one else has been involved in this incident which is being treated as non-suspicious.”

Yesterday, a West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Police are in attendance at the McDonalds restaurant on Ingleby Road, Bradford, after a woman was found with significant injuries.

“At 3.15pm a call was received regarding a concern for the safety of a female at an undisclosed location.

“Following further investigation, the police attended the restaurant where a woman was found on fire in the toilet area.

“The fire was extinguished and the woman was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

“Enquiries are ongoing but at this time there is nothing to suggest that anyone else was involved in this incident.”
