Sheffield Wednesday have provided their 2024/25 Championship predictions under Danny Rohl

Sheffield Wednesday have been given an early prediction for the upcoming 2024/25 Championship campaign under Danny Rohl.

Sheffield Wednesday will at least hope to avoid a repeat of last season in the upcoming 2024/25 Championship campaign.

The Owls finished 20th in the table and avoided relegation by just three points, which in the end was a miraculous achievement.

Form under Danny Rohl in the second half of last season suggests the Owls could drastically improve at the bottom of the league next round.

The form table for the last 25 games of the 2023/24 season placed Sheffield Wednesday in 8th place, while the form table for the last five games had the Owls in 2nd place.

But with loan players returning to their parent clubs and names like Di’Shon Bernard facing an uncertain summer, a lot of work is needed in the transfer market to give Rohl the tools to challenge the date future

Alex Miller issues Sheffield Wednesday Championship predictions for 2024/25

Speaking on Shots!TV’s ‘Sheffield Wednesday: The Great Escape’, journalist Alex Miller gave his verdict on the upcoming 2024/25 campaign.

He said: “It’s an exciting time all of a sudden for Sheffield Wednesday. I think with Danny Rohl tied to a new three-year deal, the ceiling has gone up on what can be achieved at the club.

“Barry Bannan and Liam Palmer have obviously been linked with new deals as well. The core of the team will be what it will be.

“Hopefully they can get more signings but in terms of transfers, players want to play for someone like Danny Rohl and it could be a very busy but exciting time.

“Danny talked about maybe a top 10 finish and with the right recruiting I think that could be achievable.”

3 things Sheffield Wednesday must do in the transfer market this summer

There are a number of team issues that Rohl needs to address, the first of which appears to be close to being resolved; the goalkeeper.

James Beadle has been tipped to return and Ben Hamer looks set to join on a free transfer and Cameron Dawson to leave.

Next is more bodies in the middle of the center field. Will Vaulks is set for talks with Oxford United, leaving Bannan as the only natural central midfielder; not only is depth needed here, but a little more youth would give Wednesday a nice mix of players.

Then there are problems ahead. With Ike Ugbo back at Troyes for now and Josh Windass out of contract, Wednesday really lacks firepower.

Bailey Cadamarteri could very well be better off on loan, so Sheffield Wednesday are desperate to add strikers to their ranks this summer and those who suit Rohl’s style of play.

If the Owls can fix these issues, they could end up with a top 10 finish next season.
