Live updates as roads were closed following a truck crash and oil spill

A number of roads are closed following a lorry crash and oil spill in Bootle.

Merseyside Police said Balliol Road East, Stanley Road, Hawthorne Road (City Bound) and Millers Bridge are currently closed. Police said they were called to the scene at 5.20pm today, June 11, following reports of a crash between a lorry and a car.

Merseytravel said a number of its services had been diverted as a result of the accident and oil spill.
