Luis Díaz breaks silence on Liverpool future amid transfer speculation after ‘impact’ warning.

Liverpool star Luis Díaz has broken his silence on his Anfield future as he continues to be linked with a move away from the club. Barcelona were heavily linked with the Colombia international ahead of the summer transfer window.

Díaz, 27, has been one of the few regulars in Liverpool’s starting line-up throughout the 2023/24 campaign after injuries ravaged the first-team squad. The Inter international played in 37 of his 38 Premier League matches, where he recorded eight goals and five assists.

Liverpool have completed the signing of Díaz from Porto for around $53m (€50m/£42m) in January 2022 in preparation for Sadio Mané’s exit from the club next summer .

He remains on the same terms he agreed upon his arrival and there has been speculation over his future in recent weeks, with Barca and PSG both said to be keen. But Diaz played down any talk of Anfield’s birth.

“I’m very happy there at Liverpool, it’s a great team and club, I’ve always wanted to play there. So I’m very happy and calm,” he told Semana. “I don’t think about anything else, I think about the Colombian national team, which is where we are.”

His comments come after former Chelsea and Arsenal defender William Gallas criticized the Colombian and the “impact” he is having at the club. “Liverpool no longer have Sadio Mané and Díaz doesn’t have the same impact.”
