Man accused of robbing Richmond store where worker died the next day

A man has been charged after a jewelry store was robbed in Richmond, with the store worker dying the next day.

Police were called to 247 Kettles on Kew Road shortly before 3pm on Saturday 25 May.

Two unarmed men entered the store and attacked Oliver White, the member of staff working that day, before stealing £2m worth of watches.

On Sunday, May 26, the police were informed of Oliver’s death.

His death is being investigated by Surrey Police and is not being treated as suspicious.

Junior Kunu, 29, of Lancaster Avenue, Mitcham, was charged with robbery on Wednesday, June 5, in connection with the incident.

He appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 6 June, where he was remanded in custody to appear at Kingston Crown Court on Thursday 4 July.
