Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 logo is trademarked in India

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is all set to launch in India in the next few months and the company has registered the logo of its new bike. The name ‘Guerrilla 450’ was registered almost a year ago and the bike is nearing completion of its testing phase. We suspect that the bike will be launched just before the festive season begins, with the company starting its marketing and promotion campaign for the bike months in advance.

The Guerrilla 450 will be the second model to be based on the Sherpa 450 platform, which underpins the current Himalayan. In terms of styling, the Guerrilla 450 spy shots reveal the bike to be a roadster style with a sharp spoke, muscular fuel tank and an exposed look with minimal use of body panels. In fact, the sleek rear section, round LED headlamp and upturned exhaust look just like the Himalayan.

As for the powertrain, the liquid-cooled 452cc single-cylinder engine could get a different tune, tweaked gearing and also a different final drive ratio to match the roadster’s specs. What remains to be seen is whether the Guerrilla 450 gets the Tripper Dash like the Himalayan or gets a different instrument cluster.

The Guerrilla 450 could feature a telescopic fork setup and a monoshock. The motorcycle could have 17-inch wheels at each end. Expect the rear tire to have a wide profile, adding to the roadster’s appeal. Dual-channel ABS will be standard.

Himalayan prices start from Rs. 2.98 lakh (ex-showroom) and we expect the Guerrilla 450 to be priced significantly lower at around Rs. 2.3 lakh to Rs. 2.5 lakh. It will go up against the Triumph Speed 400, KTM 390 Duke and TVS Apache RTR 310.
