Kate Garraway shares stunning video of family reunion in Cornwall and thanks Derek at home

Kate Garraway shared a lovely video of herself reuniting with her extended family in Cornwall, having not seen them since before the pandemic, and the backdrop to the reunion was simply stunning. Kate called the scene “paradise” and we couldn’t agree more.

The TV star thanked her husband Derek Draper’s parents and sisters for making the trip possible. They came down to London to stay with Derek and help his nurses while she was away, as he remains in serious recovery from his year-long hospital stay with the coronavirus.

She wrote in the caption: “Thanks to my lovely mum, dad and Draper sisters for coming down to be with Derek (and the nurses of course) so I could take my mum, dad, Darcey and Billy to Cornwall.”

It was a special reunion for the family that hadn’t been together since 2019, and there were even some new additions to meet!

Kate continued in the caption: “We got to see my brother, aunts, uncles, cousins ​​and new cousins! None of us got to see each other for Christmas 2019. So much love and excitement – not that it made our annual football game any less competitive!!!”

And what a scene for such an exciting sporting event, the Cornish seaside never disappoints and this clip is no exception; The sea absolutely sparkles just beyond the lush green fields with the sun setting over the rocky coves. Idyllic.

The family certainly deserve a lovely break after the year they’ve had and Kate was sure to wish all her fans and followers well too, writing; “Hope you all had a great half term xxx #specialmemories”
