Fire damage to the Cottage Inn in Fillongley

A popular pub outside Coventry was destroyed by a devastating fire in the early hours of this morning. Firefighters rushed to the Cottage Inn in Fillongley, but the blaze has damaged the building to such an extent that its owners have said it will be closed for the “foreseeable future”.

In a statement, they said that while the family is safe, they are “heartbroken”. Dozens of people expressed their shock and pledged support on social media for the pub, which dates back around 300 years.
