The woman spent 10 months making 400 gifts for Liverpool

A 22-year-old spent 10 months making special gifts to share with people in Liverpool.

Since last August, Zuzia, brom the Netherlands, spent hours handcrafting hundreds of bespoke items to fly to the city. Like thousands of people across the globe, Zuzia and her family are in Liverpool this week for Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated Eras tour.

The tour is a culmination of Taylor’s entire musical career, with different sections of the concert representing each album. Taylor will perform at Anfield on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 13, 14 and 15, and Zuzia is among the dedicated fans, known as Swifties, who have been preparing for the event for almost a year.

Last summer, Zuzia started making friendship bracelets to wear and share at gigs with other fans after securing tickets for three generations of her family for the second night in Liverpool. Exceeding her goal, Zezia has made four hundred different bracelets that celebrate different eras of Taylor’s career and also reference songs, lyrics and quotes from the superstar.

Zezia, who arrived in the city last night with mum Agnes, aunt Aga, cousins ​​Yvonne and Anne and grandmother Liz, told the ECHO: “It’s been hard to get tickets – so we’re all really excited.

“I’ve been a fan for years, I can’t remember exactly when I became a fan. I started making the bracelets in August and then made them from time to time.

“My target was to make 300 so that we all had a good amount to each have and share, but in the last few weeks we have made more. I finished them about two days ago”.

Whether you’re a fan or not, you may have noticed a trend that has become synonymous with the tournament. An explosion of beads, bright colors and creativity, the trend of making and selling friendship bracelets among Swifties is inspired by the lyrics of one of her songs.

In 2022, Taylor released her album, Midnights, which features the track, You’re On Your Own, Kid. Lyrics – “so make the friendship bracelets. Seize the moment and savor it” – were taken seriously by fans and became a key element of the tour from the very first shows.

The trend has seen fans across the globe buy and hand-make their own, with beads of various colors and shapes featuring song titles, album titles, lyrics and even nods to the cities hosting the concerts. They can be worn or changed during the concert, with some having such extensive collections that they cover everything between wrists and elbows.

Zezia thinks she might be among the Swifties who made the most pre-concert friendship bracelets, and she hopes to share as many as possible when she goes to the concert on Friday night. She said it was hard to think of different designs and forms on the bracelets as time went on, but it definitely became “a hobby.”

Zuzia’s mother, Agnes, said it was exciting to visit the town, where her brother’s family lives, and they were planning to visit the Taylor Town Trail facilities. The route, inspired by the music of Taylor Swift, boasts numerous unique Instagram experiences based on 11 art installations to entertain the 150,000 Swifties who will travel to the city from around the world.

Agnes told the ECHO: “It’s my daughter, myself, my sister-in-law, my two nieces and my mum – so there’s three generations of us who got tickets. When I left the airport I saw all the banners, Liverpool Loves.Taylor.

“It all looks like so much fun and we’re excited to experiment.” Zezia added: “It looks like a lot of fun and it’s really nice to see the city embrace Taylor like that.”
