Manchester United players at COPA America 2024

COPA America 2024 is scheduled to begin on June 20 in the United States of America. The football extravaganza will last until July 14, when the final will be played in Florida. A host of South American stars are set to compete in the nearly month-long football competition for continental bragging rights. Both Brazil and Argentina are favorites for the tournament.

Manchester United will provide two of its Argentine stars to represent the club at COPA America 2024 as both Garnacho and Lisandro Martinez are set to represent Argentina at the competition. Garnacho had a solid season at Manchester United, where he combined with fellow youngsters Kobbie Mainoo and Rasmus Hojlund for some scintillating performances for the Red Devils. The Argentinian played 50 of his 52 games for United and scored 10 goals, including a goal in the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

Lisandro Martinez had a difficult injury-plagued season but returned in time to see action towards the end of the campaign where he lifted the FA Cup against holders Manchester City. Lisandro Martinez looks set to start alongside Romero in the heart of Argentina’s defence, while Garnacho is expected to see some action coming from the bench, where Angel di Maria is expected to be ahead of him on the right wing. Argentina play Peru, Canada and Chile in the group stage, which they are expected to top.

Antony and Casemiro missed out on the final squad for Brazil due to their poor performance with the club as Brazil face Colombia, Costa Rica and Paraguay in the group stage.
