The air ambulance rushed over and police were called out of “concern for the welfare” of the man

Police and paramedics were rushed to an area of ​​Rivington following a report of “concern for the welfare” of a man. Emergency services were called to the scene near Roynton Road earlier this evening. The air ambulance landed nearby.

A man was taken to hospital by air ambulance from the scene, between Lancashire and Greater Manchester, police said. Further details of the incident have not yet been confirmed and the man’s condition is unknown at this time.

An eyewitness told him Manchester Evening News that the air ambulance landed in a field and a man was treated by paramedics. He said there was a heavy police presence following the incident.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “Police were called to a welfare report between Lancashire and Greater Manchester. Police resources and other blue light services attended and located a man who was taken to hospital by air ambulance.”
