Live M5 traffic updates as the lane is closed by the vehicle fire

It’s shaping up to be a busy afternoon on the M5 as the Friday (May 10) getaway begins. One lane is closed northbound in Gloucestershire, while there are also long delays reported near Bristol.

According to traffic monitoring website Inrix, the lane is closed between Gloucester and Cheltenham due to a vehicle fire. Meanwhile, there is congestion heading south near Clevedon.




Inrix says: “One lane closed and traffic queued due to vehicle fire on the M5 northbound from J11 A40 (Gloucester / Golden Valley Bypass) to J10 A4019 ( Cheltenham ).”

It added: “Long delays due to holiday traffic on the M5 southbound around J20 B3133 Ettlingen Way ( Clevedon ). Traffic in patches.”
