Sheffield Wednesday close to completing transfer – Agreement reached with club and player

Sheffield Wednesday have agreed a deal with Angers for defender Yan Valery after agreeing a personal deal with the player.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who say the 25-year-old has moved a step closer to joining Sheffield Wednesday this summer.

They report that Valery is not far from returning to England after previous spells with Southampton and Birmingham.

Angers have already reached an agreement with Sheffield Wednesday for the defender, although the transfer fee has not been shared.

Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Röhl was keen on a deal for the right-back after working with him at Southampton when he was assistant manager to Ralph Hasenhüttl.

A deal has now been agreed and with Sheffield Wednesday having already agreed personal terms with the player, it seems only a matter of time before the transfer is completed.

All that’s needed now is for Valery to complete a medical and sign on the dotted line, making his return to England and joining his third club, where we’re sure he’ll be hoping to prove himself the lucky one.
