EastEnders’ Karen Taylor is devastated when Keanu’s real killer is exposed

EastEnders aired emotional scenes on Thursday (June 13) as Keanu Taylor was finally laid to rest. The mechanic was killed by Linda Carter in The Vic on Christmas Day after she stabbed him in the back with a meat thermometer.

Linda committed the violent act in an attempt to stop him from strangling his best partner Sharon Watts to death. After Keanu’s decomposing body is discovered under the coffee shop floor, the six work together to frame Dean Wicks for the murder.

Despite pleading his innocence, Dean was later charged with Keanu’s murder and held in prison on remand. On tonight’s trip to Walford, Karen Taylor returned to her son’s funeral and immediately hit out at Sharon Watts as she blamed her for Keanu’s death.

However, after some words of wisdom from Kat Slater, Karen broke down as she opened up about the loss of her boy and confirmed Sharon could attend the funeral with the pair sharing a hug too.

The rest of the six, including Kathy, Stacey, Suki, Linda and Denise, were seen sitting with their thoughts as Keanu was finally buried. Each of the women appeared on screen as Karen read a heartbreaking eulogy for her beloved son.

During the wake at The Queen Vic, a grieving Karen expressed her confusion over Keanu’s Christmas killing and found the situation hard to believe as the two men were unrelated.

Wanting answers, Karen left the pub and headed to the prison to see Dean looking rather worse for wear with an unkempt beard. She begged him to shut up and asked him to admit what he did, but in response Dean dropped a bombshell.

“Linda Carter is lying about being at the crime scene, I wasn’t,” Dean protested. Karen asked Dean to be honest as he was “finding it hard to deal with”.

Dean added, “Ask Linda why she’s lying. She’s a basket case, you can see it in her eyes. And I think you believe me.”

When Dean tells Karen who really killed her son, will she believe him? EastEnders will have to wait and see.
