Leeds United transfer blow as rival £13m bid expected to hit Daniel Farke’s plans

Leeds United appear to be out of the market for one of their transfer targets after Fulham had a sizeable bid rejected for Whites target Silas Mvumpa. VfB Stuttgart star Mvumpa was heavily linked with a move to United before the transfer window reopened on Friday.

The versatile forward, who started his career at Paris FC in France before moving to Germany in 2019, made 30 appearances for the Bundesliga club last season and after being a huge success, there was talk of Stuttgart wanting to take advantage of the player. The reported £12.75m valuation of the player does not appear to be enough to convince the German club to let international Dr Congo leave.

According to Caught Offside, Fulham had an initial bid of £7m rejected and could now prepare a second bid to almost double that figure in an effort to secure a deal for the start of the transfer window, making an early move ahead of other parties. to get involved.

Silas had 13 goals last season, scoring seven goals with six assists and can operate either on the wing or in a more central role behind the striker. With two years left on his current deal, Stuttgart know they don’t have to sell and appear prepared to hold out to maximize the player’s value.

Leeds are not in a place to table bids at present and will first look to establish what happens to Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto before looking to spend significantly on new attacking players.
