Sheffield Wednesday are reviving interest in Myles Peart-Harris

Sheffield Wednesday have revived their interest in Brentford attacking midfielder Myles Peart-Harris, according to The Star.

Sheffield Wednesday have transfer funds available this summer and Danny Rohl will be keen to use them after committing his future to the club.

The transfer window opens on Friday and a host of players have been linked with a move to Hillsborough.

Now though, it is claimed that one of the club’s former targets is back on the radar.

The Star claims Sheffield Wednesday have revived their interest in attacking midfielder Myles Peart-Harris, who returns to Brentford this summer after a half-season spell at League One winners Portsmouth.

The 21-year-old, who sees his deal with the Bees expire in 2025, has managed two goals in 12 outings for Pompey.

It remains to be seen what Brentford have planned for Peart-Harris next season and there is no word on whether the Owls’ interest is in a permanent or loan deal. However, he is on the radar at Hillsborough after being watched in January.

Who is this?

THE QUIZ STARTS!

To attend the championship?

There have been flashes of brilliance from Peart-Harris during his time with Portsmouth, but as his return of goals and assists suggests, he hasn’t had the biggest impact on John Mousinho’s title-winning side.

However, there have been some promising performances from the former Chelsea prospect and having previously impressed in League One with a struggling Forest Green Rovers, it would be interesting to see how he fares in the Championship.

Peart-Harris could certainly be a utility player for Rohl and co, though, and is worth keeping on the radar.

He can operate in a wide range of roles, featuring on the left as well as in central positions as an attacking midfielder or central midfielder. This level of versatility would make him a solid addition to any party.

A loan or permanent?

While it is not stated what deal Sheffield Wednesday are considering, it could be that either a loan or a permanent deal for Peart-Harris is feasible.

Rohl used the loan market well in the January transfer window with moves for James Beadle, Ike Ugbo and Ian Poveda in January and it would be a big surprise if the Owls don’t try to repeat that trick.

At the same time, though, with just one year left on Peart-Harris’ contract, Brentford may now look to cash in with a sale to avoid losing him for nothing next summer.

Time will tell exactly what his club have in mind, but it seems Sheffield Wednesday will be keeping an eye on developments regardless.
