Local heroes: Full list of people from the West Midlands and Staffordshire in the King’s Birthday Honors List

Best known for presenting ITV’s breakfast show Good Morning Britain, Good Morning with Anne and Nick, and BBC Midlands Today, he leads the region’s names to recognition.

Mr Owen, 76, from Stourbridge, and Strictly Come dancer Amy Dowden, 33, from Rowley Regis, were both awarded MBEs and, like the King, had recently been treated for cancer .

They are among dozens of extraordinary people from the region who have been honored by King Charles in the king’s second year on the throne.

Recipients from all walks of life were recognized for going above and beyond to help others, asking for little recognition in return.

Among them, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service chief officer Rob Barber received the King’s Medal for Firefighters.

Those receiving MBEs include Wolverhampton’s Manor Multi-Academy Trust chairman David Coles, from Bilston, for services to education.

Cannock Public Transport Champion Rosemary Rees For services to Diversity and Inclusion in the Rail Industry. She is also involved in working with the Midland Metro Alliance tram service.

Director of Arts Connect, Robert Elkington, Wolverhampton, for services to Young People.

Zia Us Samad Chowdhury JP for services to the Bangladeshi community in the West Midlands.

Founder of Progress Care Group, Balwinder Kaur Dhanoa, of Rugeley, for services to children with special educational needs and their families.

Anthony Matthews, National Memorial Arboretum Volunteer and President of the Royal British Legion Branch, Rugeley, for voluntary services to Veterans.

Former Chief Executive of Citizens Advice Staffordshire South-West Susan Ann Nicholls, of Stone, for services to the community.

Among those receiving the Order of the British Empire (BEM) is The Arts of Change chief executive Christian Dixon, from Dudley, for mental health services in the Black Country.

Norma Hyde, of Halesowen, for services to Special Olympics, Sandwell.

Swimming Technical Officer Antony Ward, of Wolverhampton, for serv Swimming and Para-Swimming.

Former Lapley, Stretton and Wheaton Parish Councilor Aston Thomas Noblett, of Stafford, for services to local government.

Elizabeth Timmis, of Stafford for services to the community in Wetwood.

Sutton Coldfield Harold Jones Fundraiser For services to motor neurone disease charities and to the community.
