Bradford Bulls sign speedster from Brisbane Tigers

Bradford Bulls

The Bradford Bulls have flexed their muscles and paid up to sign Brisbane Tigers center Max Lehmann until the end of the season.

The Bulls are currently sixth in the Championship but are three points off second place, while also three points off seventh place, much of the club’s success this season has come off the back of a recruitment drive impressive.

Head coach Eamon O’Carroll has proved to be the most important piece of recruitment, with the former Wigan man arriving from Catalans Dragons and sparking excitement at Odsal once again.

The former Ireland international brought in the likes of Mitch Souter and John Davies, as well as loan deals for Liam Tindall and Jayden Okunbor, although the most influential was Zac Fulton, who was instrumental in convincing 24-year-old Lehmann . to join the Bulls.

Lehmann and Fulton are best mates and now the centre, who can also play on the wing, is determined to have a similar impact to striker Fulton.

Bradford Bulls announced this morning that they have secured the signature of Max Lehmann, with the 24-year-old’s move until the end of the season subject to international clearance.

Lehmann joins Bradford from the Brisbane Tigers, for whom he has scored 16 in 22 since making his debut in 2023. He previously played for Parramatta’s reserve team in the 2022 season but is now heading to England to continue his career and make an impact.

On the move to the Championship, Lehmann told the club’s website: “I’m really excited to be joining Bradford Bulls, it’s such a historic club with a history of success. I can’t wait to add to that history,” said Lehmann, who will be sponsored In Memory of the Trotter Family.

“I’ve always wanted to play sports abroad and travel when I can. It’s the best opportunity to do both, so when the opportunity came, I wanted to grab it with both hands.”

Discussing his link-up with Fulton, he said: “Zac (Fulton) is my best mate and I’ve seen him really start to enjoy his football here at Bradford and as a result his game has another level. I will aim to have the same impact in the areas of the game I am involved in.”

He also made the bold statement that he “can’t wait to get this club back into Super League”, something that probably now lies in the hands of the club to sort out a deal and improve their stadium, as opposed to doing. field performance in this new IMG era.
