Gresley Road hit-and-run leaves man seriously injured

A young man has been seriously injured after a hit-and-run in Coventry. It happened on Gresley Road yesterday evening (Thursday June 13).

Police said the victim was hit by a vehicle that then drove off around 9 p.m. Paramedics found that the 19-year-old suffered serious injuries.



Fortunately, his injuries are not considered life-threatening. Anyone who witnessed the incident has been urged to contact West Midlands Police.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “We are investigating after a man was hit by a car on Gresley Road in Coventry just before 9pm yesterday (Thursday, June 13). We are carrying out inquiries to identify who was responsible and anyone with information can contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101 and quote 20/543059/24.”

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman: “We were called to reports of an RTC at the junction of Wyken Croft and Gresley Road in Coventry just before 9pm. An ambulance, a paramedic and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered a man.

“He was treated for serious injuries before being transported by ground ambulance to hospital for further treatment.”
