Taylor Swift fans in disbelief at ‘outrageous’ Uber prices for 3-mile trip to Anfield

People in Liverpool have expressed their anger after being quoted “outrageous” fares for Uber rides to and from Taylor Swift concerts at Anfield.

The global megastar played the first of three sold-out shows in the city last night and will return to the LFC Stadium tonight and Saturday. , some people are unhappy with the surge pricing implemented by Uber at the time of the concerts.

A number of people took to social media to highlight huge prices quoted for relatively short trips. On X, Kevin Kelly shared two screenshots of the quoted prices for the requested trips in the city on Thursday afternoon.

The first showed a price of £53.51 on offer for a journey from Castle Street in the city center to Walton Breck Road, near the stadium. A trip of only 3.3 miles.

The second highlighted a quoted price of £79.54 for a 6.2 mile journey from Henry Street in the city center to Anfield Road. Also on X, a woman said: “Uber is absolutely disgraceful to charge £40 for a 2.3 mile journey from Anfield to Clubmoor. You should be ashamed of yourself for deceiving people like that.”

The Liverpool Wanderer X account shared a quoted price of £31.96 for a journey between Lime Street Station and Liverpool Stadium on Thursday.
