Manchester United are making a £43m bid for Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite

Manchester United have submitted an opening bid of £43m for Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite.

The offer, which came in on Friday, is a fixed fee of £35m with £8m in add-ons, which would only be activated if the player or the club reach certain milestones.

Everton are expected to reject United’s bid as they value the 21-year-old at £70million.

The Times revealed on Thursday that United had agreed personal terms with the Englishman in hopes of making him their first signing of the summer window. Should a deal be reached, Branthwaite, who just missed out on England’s Euro 2024 squad, would be paid between £150,000 and £160,000-a-week, according to sources familiar with the negotiations.
