Coventry road closures live after ‘serious crash’

A number of roads in Coventry are closed following a ‘serious accident’. Radford Road, Lydgate Road, Dugdale Road, Bede Road and Wyley Road will remain closed for the rest of the evening (Friday 14 June).

Police have urged people to avoid the area tonight (June 14). Motorists were urged to find an alternative route, Coventry Police said.




A Coventry Police spokesman said: “Radford Road, Lydgate Road, Dugdale Road, Bede Road and Wyley Road are closed due to a serious collision and the closures are likely to remain in place for most of the evening. Please find an alternate route. Thank you for your patience.”


Google Maps showed heavy congestion around the junction of Radford Road and Lydgate Road, where roadworks are also taking place. Traffic on Radford Road heading towards the ring road was backed up to the junction of Engleton Road and Beake Avenue.

Radford Road blocked

Radford Road is blocked at the Lydgate Road junction.

Radford Road, Lydgate Road, Dugdale Road, Bede Road and Wyley Road are likely to remain closed until the evening (June 14).

Motorists have been urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes this evening, Coventry Police said.

A post on Inrix said: “Radford Road closed in both directions, traffic backed up due to accident between Lydgate Road and Radford Common.”
