Summer Seasonal Snapshots – Enter Now

It’s time again to get your phones and cameras ready, because today is the launch of our next seasonal photo competition.

The winner will again be selected by the public and then published in Around Ealing magazine and on our website. They will also win 4 cinema tickets courtesy of Ealing Picturehouse cinema.

Summer is the perfect time to snap, with all the outdoor events, activities and wildlife out in force. And entries to Seasons of Ealing summer 2024 can now be submitted.

The idea is for you to submit your favorite photos of anything with a summer feel. It could be a landscape, a skyline, wild animals, your family playing in the park; whatever catches your interest. The key is that it must be taken in the neighborhood, by you.

Seasons of Ealing made a fantastic return over the winter and spring, thanks to a combination of the outstanding photographs submitted by readers (including the image above by Sally Poynter) and the thousands of you who helped us choose the winner.

Our spring winner was Natalie Warne with her picture of garden snails.

Win movie tickets

As well as seeing her winning entry in the magazine, Natalie also won 4 tickets to the Ealing Picturehouse cinema, who sponsored the competition.

Picturehouse are also kindly sponsoring the summer competition, so there are more cinema tickets up for grabs for our lucky winner.

Break up

The Seasons of Ealing Summer 2024 competition opens today, June 14, and will close on Sunday, July 28, 2024. At that time, a shortlist will be selected and a public vote will decide the winner.

Our goal is to run the competition every season, giving you multiple opportunities to participate throughout the year.

how do i get in

Email your photo to [email protected] by the deadline for entries, which is 11.59pm on 28 July 2024.

For your photo to be considered, you must:

• put Seasons of Ealing in the email subject
• include your name, mailing address, and phone number
• include a brief description of the photo, when you took it and where you took it
• mention that the photo was taken by you and that you also have permission for any people whose faces appear in the photo to enter the photo in the Seasons of Ealing competition
• make sure the image is of high enough resolution to be reproduced online and in print (poor quality images will not be considered) – so make sure the image is provided at a size of over 1MB and in ideally, 300 dpi or higher

What happens then?

After the deadline for entries, a panel of judges will evaluate the entries and select a shortlist. These selected photos will be displayed here on our website and then everyone can get involved as the winner will be selected via a public online poll.

After the poll closes, the winning photo will be featured in an issue of Around Ealing magazine.
Other things to know

By entering the competition you agree to your photo being reproduced in Around Ealing magazine, the Around Ealing website and the council’s social media channels. No remuneration will be possible but you will be credited as the photographer if used in the Around Ealing magazine or website.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to respond to everyone who entered the competition.
If any image is found not to have been taken in the neighborhood or to have violated any of the other conditions stated above, the photo will be disqualified from the contest.

Will there be more competitions?

Yes, we intend for this to continue and another Seasons of Ealing competition is due to take place in the autumn. Keep an eye on Around Ealing magazine and the Around Ealing website for details closer to the time.
