20-year-old man dies after shooting in Hanwell – EALING.NEWS – The Voice of Ealing 7 towns

The Metropolitan Police have launched a murder investigation after a 20-year-old man died in hospital following a shooting in Hanwell.

Officers were called at around 2.10am on 9 June 2024 to reports of a shooting in Templeman Road, where together with the London Ambulance Service they found Sebastiaan James-Kraan with life-threatening gunshot wounds in danger. He was immediately taken to hospital but died three days later on 12 June 2024. A post-mortem examination will take place next week.

Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley said: “At this early stage of the investigation we believe the victim was involved in an altercation with a group of males which resulted in the victim being shot once.

“I would like to speak to any witnesses who heard or saw anything in the area of ​​Templeman Road around 02:00 on Sunday, June 9.”

Chief Superintendent Sean Wilson, who is in charge of borough policing, said: “I know that a death caused by gun crime will cause considerable concern in the local community. My thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends and my officers are doing everything they can to support the crime investigation.”

A statement from his family was released which said: “Sebastiaan James-Kraan was cruelly taken from his family at such a young age.

“He was a kind, loving, gentle man with a beautiful soul who will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends. A gentle giant with a heart of pure gold.

“Please respect our privacy now to allow us to deal with our grief.”

No arrests have been made.
