£2 pint sun holiday which is just a £63 flight from Manchester Airport

Let’s face it, the weather has been pretty miserable so far this summer, and you may find yourself longing for a sunny escape in the coming months. But a holiday abroad doesn’t have to cost a fortune and there are plenty of cheap destinations you can fly to from Manchester Airport.

Even though Turkey is a popular destination among travelers, prices have remained low, making it an affordable place for a sunny getaway. If you are looking for amazing beaches, historical attractions and lively nightlife, then the city of Bodrum is the place to be.

Located on the so-called “Turkish Riviera”, the city boasts a beautiful coastline with clear water and green hills that could rival any coastal city in France or Italy. You can enjoy these sights even more knowing you won’t be splurging on your journey as a pint of pint costs around £2, while a three course meal will set you back around £30 for two.

Flights are also reasonably priced. Skyscanner shows direct flights from Manchester to Bodrum in July from just £63 one-way, with return tickets starting at a similar price. EasyJet lists flights from £72.99 one way, return from £54.99. Or Jet2 has one-way flights from £65 in July, return from £67. It is important to note that these prices may not include baggage or seat allocation.

July is Bodrum’s sunniest month, with 330 hours of sunshine, so you’re almost guaranteed good weather. Temperatures range from the mid-20s to mid-30s this month, so even the cooler days are still warm.

When it comes to beaches, Bodrum has more to offer. There is Bitez beach, which is popular for water sports, especially windsurfing; Bodrum Beach, which is located close to the heart of the city and further along the coast, is Aspat Beach, overlooking towering palm trees; to name just a few.

It’s not just the beaches that Bodrum is known for, the town has an incredible history and is even home to one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World – the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, a now-ruined tomb from 350 BC.

Of course, Bodrum Castle – also known as St. Peter’s Castle – which overlooks the harbor is hard to miss. Construction began in the early 15th century by the Knights of St. John and was taken over by the Ottoman Empire in 1523. Today it houses the Museum of Underwater Archaeology.
