Crysencio Summerville warned of Liverpool and Chelsea transfer as Leeds United ‘have to wait’

Leeds United are ominously awaiting the first transfer offers for star player Crysencio Summerville – but the player has been warned about the pitfalls of moving to the wrong club this summer.

The Dutch star’s form last season has attracted interest from the Premier League’s top stars, with Liverpool and Chelsea said to be leading the race for his signature. Newcastle United have also been linked with the 22-year-old, while Brighton and Crystal Palace are said to be monitoring the situation.

Leeds are likely to receive a fee of around £35m for the Championship player of the season – a sum which could go a long way in helping them meet profit and sustainability regulations. However, EFL pundit Don Goodman says the winger should be careful about which club he chooses if he is to move on.

The glamor of a move to Anfield or Stamford Bridge would be hugely appealing to anyone, but Goodman insists there is a lot to be said for moving to a club where first-team football will be more realistic. Both Liverpool and Chelsea already have plenty of attacking options at their disposal and while Summerville would back themselves to impress, the challenge would be greater.

“Newcastle already have Harvey Barnes, Anthony Gordon and others, so I don’t know about that,” Goodman told MOT Leeds News. “As for Liverpool and Chelsea, will he get regular football with them? Probably not.

Brighton have a history of taking young players and improving them. But from Brighton’s perspective they would be the least attractive of the four of those clubs in terms of size and ambition compared to the others – they are all Champions League clubs or aspiring to be.
