Festival preview: Tramlines – Sheffields Biggest Party – Friday 26th July to Sunday 28th July

Tramlines Festival, Sheffield’s biggest party, have revealed their stage splits and they’re on now last tickets left in the final level. Award-winning festival (2023 UK Festival Award for ‘Best Festival for Emerging Talent’) takes place at a capacity of 40,000 Hillsborough Park from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 July, festival-goers are in for a real treat, with a variety of rising stars from this year’s line-up.

Each of the five festival stages has something completely different to offer. From vast and intimate outdoor vibes to cabaret-filled bars and pubs – Paths of paths has everything covered.

Serving up the soundtrack Main Stage Sarah Nulty this year I’m headlining Paulo Nutini, Jamie T and Snow Patrolplus a selection box of rock, electro pop, indie and bass from Sheffield heroes The Human League, Example, Maximo Park, Tom Grennan, Bombay Bicycle Club, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Miles Kane, Coach Party, The View, Bedroom High Club and of Sheffield Brothers always pregnant and The Leadmill Studio Orchestra.

The tram lines are gigantic The other stage will host a brilliant lineup of standup comedians by day and a mix of musical talent by night. Comics that live here for the 2024 edition include Lucy Beaumont, Angelos Epithemiou, Jon Richardson, Olivia Lee and Justin Moorhouse among others. While the sound system comes at night will be put to work by The Charlatans, Soft Play, Dylan John Thomas, Holly Humberstone, Annie Mac, Jazzy, Yard Act, The Pigeon Detectives and Anthony Szmierekplus Sheffield’s Coco and Otis Mensah.

Over on Leadmill stage, revelers will find some of the best new bands and artists in the business. Drawing crowds to the big tent will be this year The Mysterines, PEACE, Magic Gang, Corella, English Teacher, Been Stellar, Willie J Healey, Balancing Actplus the winners of Apply To Play contests from Victorious Festival and Truck Festival, Jay Dodgson and Idle minds.

Library scene at Tramlines is the place to discover the best unsigned and popular talent, where festival goers can expect everything from neo funk and soul to ska, indie and rap from tomorrow’s stars. For 2024 it will present winner of this year’s Apply To Play Contest, Hannah Roweas selected by Radio X’s John Kennedy. Hannah Rowe and the band from Barnsley perform an incredible mix of soul, jazz and R’n’B and are not to be missed, as are the other finalists who fought off over 2000 applicants to perform at Tramlines, including alt- electro pop artist Darla Jade (chosen by Amazing Radio), British rap outfit Tinxshe (selected by Exposed Magazine), indie alt rock band, Sam Scherdel (chosen by BBC Introducing) and other.

Fans of rap, spoken word and positive lyrics should come to The Library Stage at Tramlines on Saturday to see this year’s showcase from Sheffield talent development platform, Model + Push. Like former Apply To Play winner, Rambi Taurusand the much-supported Afro hip-hop fusionist, Franz vonfestival goers can expect an abundance of grooves, beats and catchy lyrics from young talent, The stars, Lavelle, Chloe Beth Rogers and Harris Lich.
