Andy Robertson admits an injury will worry Liverpool boss Arne Slot

Andy Robertson has revealed he played injured for Liverpool in the last two months of the season.

The Scotland captain has been limited to just 30 appearances in all competitions for the Reds this season as he has missed 24 games due to enforced absences. Such a total was his lowest for the club since he first joined Liverpool in the summer of 2017 and initially served as back-up to Alberto Moreno, with the 30-year-old’s next lowest being of 43 exits.

Suffering a dislocated shoulder while away with Scotland in October, such an injury was responsible for most of Robertson’s absence, with the left-back returning to us until the end of January.

However, he also picked up an ankle injury while away with the Tartan Army during the international break in March, which saw him miss the Reds’ 2–1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on 31 March.

After limping out of training for Scotland in midweek ahead of the heavy 5-1 opening defeat to Germany at Euro 2024, Robertson admitted he has been through the pain barrier in the past two months.

“I’m good physically, good mentally, I’m looking forward to what’s next,” he said before facing Germany. “I’ve had an ankle injury since March and I’ve been nursing it a bit since then, but I’m feeling good.
