Manchester United, Tottenham ready to trigger Eberechi Eze clause

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are ready to trigger their release clause to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.

According to a report by Football Insider, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Eberechi Eze in the summer transfer window. The Englishman’s contract with Crystal Palace has a £60m release clause. And the two Premier League giants are ready to fire it up to secure his services.

Eberechi Eze and his impact for Crystal Palace

Eberechi Eze has made leaps and bounds since joining Crystal Palace from Queens Park Rangers in August 2020. He took some time to settle at Selhurst Park but was a key figure when his debut season at the south London club ended Since then, the Englishman has been a mainstay in the middle of the park for them.

Eze’s exploits for Crystal Palace helped him establish a foothold in the England national team. Meanwhile, the 25-year-old enjoyed an outstanding 2023/24 campaign, contributing 17 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions, finding the back of the net 11 times and providing six assists.

Meanwhile, the England international has caught the eye of several high-profile Premier League clubs with his spells for Crystal Palace. Eze has appeared on the radar of almost every ‘Big Six’ club, with Manchester United and Tottenham in particular making his signature.

Big Premier League move on the cards?

Manchester United’s interest in Eberechi Eze is understandable. The Red Devils are keen to sign a versatile midfielder amid uncertainty over the futures of Donny van de Beek and Christian Eriksen. The pair will most likely leave Manchester United this summer, forcing them to scour the market for a replacement.

As for Tottenham, the north London giants have a long-standing interest in Eze. With Manor Solomon and Richarlison facing uncertain futures at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the 25-year-old Englishman can be a long-term attacking solution. Meanwhile, Eze’s contract with Crystal Palace has a £60million release clause.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are ready to fork out the £60million required to secure the services of Eberechi Eze in the summer transfer window. While Oliver Glasner wants to block the England international’s summer departure, the opt-out clause in his contract leaves the decision out of the Crystal Palace manager’s hands.
