Boy, 12, killed in BMW hit-and-run in Coventry | UK news

A young schoolboy has died following a 'hit and run' in Coventry.  He was hit by a BMW on Radford Road yesterday afternoon (Friday June 14).  Police cordoned off a number of city roads yesterday evening (June 14) following the incident, which happened at around 4.30pm.  Paramedics were also called but the 12-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene, West Midlands Police said.

A 12-year-old boy died after being knocked down in a hit.

The schoolboy was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in Coventry yesterday afternoon.

Detectives have recovered a BMW believed to have been involved in the incident but are appealing for information to help locate the occupants.

Sergeant Rich Evans said: “We would appeal to the driver or any passengers who were in the vehicle to do the right thing and contact us.

“A 12-year-old boy has tragically lost his life and we need you to come forward and surrender.

“We are helping to support the family at this very difficult time as they try to understand what has happened.”

Police cordoned off a number of city roads on Friday following the incident, which took place at around 4.30pm.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and anyone who may have ringer or dash cam footage to come forward.

Anyone with information is urged to contact West Midlands Police.
