And speaking in January, Olmo indicated that his future was not set in stone. He referred to Barcelona, ​​one of the clubs said to be interested in his signature.

He told the German media BILD at the time: “Things happen so fast in football, things can change all the time. I have my advisor who takes care of it. Me? I just focus on football.

“I want to go back to Spain one day, that would be great. It’s my country, my league. My family and friends live there. But I’m not only linked to Spain.

“The most important thing for me is to play in a club where I feel loved and important. Like here in Leipzig.

“I played in Barcelona for six years when I was young. It will always be a home for me. Many of my friends from the national team play there.”
