I saw Taylor Swift’s last Liverpool show and I will never feel bad, stupid or stupid again

Just moments after her final performance at Anfield, Taylor told the crowd: “Liverpool just look at you. I have to be honest, you make me feel absolutely fantastic right now.”

The singer received a standing ovation from the crowd as she pointed to each section of the Anfield crowd and admitted: “It was really cool. It immediately occurred to me. You guys make me feel very, very strong. Sold out show in Liverpool on a Saturday night.”

She added: “So first of all I want to thank you for every choice you made that ended up here. It will be everyone’s number one goal at this stage to make you proud of those decisions to hang out with us on a Saturday night.”

Despite breaking Anfield attendance records and 62,000 in attendance, the Eras show at times feels surprisingly intimate as Taylor effortlessly connects with her adoring fans. This is especially true during her set of surprise acoustic songs, and tonight Liverpool were in for a real treat.

One of the most anticipated parts of the Eras Tour show is always the surprise songs that Taylor will perform. Tonight, on her third and final night in Liverpool, she performed a ‘murder mashup’ of Carolina from the Where The Crawdads Sing soundtrack and No Bodies, No Murder.

Taking to the piano, Taylor then performed her second surprise song of the night The Manuscript, which is the first time she has performed the TTPD song live. She did it in a mix with Red – in a nod to Liverpool FC.

While some of Taylor’s most famous songs and eras, like 1989’s “Shake it Off” and Red’s “I Knew You Were Trouble,” inspire the hottest songs, tracks from Tortured Poets Department, recently released, they are an unexpected highlight in a catalog of classics. Taylor appears to levitate on stage, with a darkening sky behind her and a zombie image of her face projected on the giant screen, during a rousing performance of ‘Who’s Afraid of Me Old Man?’

‘I Can Do It With A Broken Heart’ sees the singer playfully interacting with her dancers, including the enigmatic Kam Saunders, who won the hearts of the Anfield crowd on Friday with his brave attempt at a Scouse accent. From beautifully staged tracks from Folklore and Evermore, while a beaming Taylor sings in a thatched cottage, to a Reputation-era, jaw-dropping 10-minute version of “All Too Well,” Karma quite shiny and all. before and between this is a slick show.
