Jet2 takes action on UK departures after ‘strong demand’ from passengers

Jet2 took the action after “strong demand” from UK passengers – as it launches another UK route. Jet2, which is rivaled by the likes of Ryanair and Easyjet, has introduced a brand new service from an overseas UK airport and will fly to another romantic European city following “strong demand”.

Jet2.com has added Verona to its ski flight schedule for 2024/25 and the city is a favorite with enthusiasts. The route to Verona will start on 21 December 2024 and run until 5 April 2025, Jet2 – which flies from Birmingham – has confirmed.

Jet2 will transport passengers to the Dolomites, including Val di Fassa, Madonna di Campiglio and Cortina d’Ampezzo, as well as its already confirmed ski schedule for next winter, Chambery, Geneva, Grenoble, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Lyon and Turin.

Chief executive Steve Heapy said: “We are experiencing strong demand from skiers and snowboarders looking to book the best action for the 24/25 winter and our ski flights are selling very well. With perfectly timed flights, we give skiers access to the best ski resorts in Europe and we know that our new ski services to Verona, together with those already on sale, will be a big hit with snow sports enthusiasts next winter .”

It comes days after Jet2 was ranked the UK’s best short-haul airline for punctuality, according to analysis of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) data by the PA news agency. The analysis considered all scheduled and charter departures from UK airports of airlines operating more than 2,500 flights in 2023.
