Airport passengers paid ‘hidden’ fee of £604 before flying

Eight hidden airport fees add up to HUNDREDS to your holiday bills. Recent data has emerged ahead of the big summer getaway with holidaymakers heading abroad – and it shows passengers and holidaymakers are being hit by HUNDREDS.

Passengers are stung by airport prices in transport hubs such as Heathrow, Gatwick, Birmingham, London Stansted, London Luton, East Midlands and more. Which?, a consumer body, has warned that duty-free shopping could cost Britons.




And a trip to the Bureau of Exchange could see you pay £157 more than you need to. Eurochange compared the cost of getting £1,000 in US dollars in the UK airports compared to its large branches and showed that on average you would lose £157.

Expensive delivery charges could cost passengers an unnecessary £7, with increased prices for drivers, drivers and road users in 2024 amid the cost of living crisis. And when you fly, you could pay £70 in roaming charges for a two-week holiday in the US.

There have been other warnings around pre-paid parking, with drivers being urged to book and save £282, with day parking in Manchester costing £350 for a week, compared to just £98 when you book in advance to arrive.

Other warnings surround high street giants in the departure lounge such as Pret and WH Smith selling sandwiches at inflated prices. In total, the analysis works because Brits are spending £604 unnecessarily this summer.
