Bunaglow ‘damaged’ with ‘huge potential’ to go under the hammer

A ‘flood-damaged’ Leicestershire bungalow with workshop and acres of land is to go under the hammer. Bidders hailed the site, saying it had “huge potential”.

The deal can be found in the “peaceful”, “private” and “desirable” village of Twyford, near Melton, and is part of the next sale from SDL Property Auctions later this month. The offer includes a detached bungalow, attached garage/workshop and 7.5 acres of paddock land.

The paddocks are currently let for sheep grazing until October 2024, but SDL Property Auctions said the entire site has material for redevelopment. They said this could see extensions or even new construction work in the area, subject to planning permission.

The sale details make it clear that the bungalow needs a lot of work. Potential buyers have warned that the three-bed property is in need of “complete modernisation” and has also suffered “flood damage”. They said it had the potential for extension work or even demolition to still allow a new house to be built on the site.

Meanwhile, the business also includes a workshop and garage. It comes with a WC and an office room above. The entire site, including the 7.5 acres of land, has a guide price of £550,000 plus tax before auction.
