The roof of an auto body repair shop in Littleton collapsed Saturday morning, fire officials said.

South Metro Fire Rescue crews and Littleton police responded to reports of a roof collapse at Bradford Auto Body around 8:45 a.m. Saturday, the fire department said in a statement. statement on social media.

No one was in the building – at 2659 Main St. in downtown Littleton — when the roof collapsed and no injuries were reported, according to South Metro.

The fire department said a 900-square-foot section of the roof collapsed, but the cause remains under investigation.

Firefighters, technical rescue crews, hazardous materials and heavy rescue crews were on scene to stabilize the remaining sections of the roof, and South Metro turned the building over to the city of Littleton around 10:15 a.m. The city’s building inspector will work with the business owner to determine the cause of the collapse.
