Ex-Liverpool star brutally reveals England player they ‘can’t win anything with’.

Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann has brutally picked out the England player he believes could cost him the three lei at this summer’s European Championship. Gareth Southgate’s side kick off their campaign later today against Serbia.

But while England are among the favorites to win the tournament in Germany, Hamann believes Jordan Pickford could let his side down. The Everton goalkeeper has made the number one position his own in recent years, playing in all 19 competitive matches at tournaments under Southgate’s management.

“My concern would be Jordan Pickford,” Hamann said, speaking on the “In The Zone” podcast. “He’s a good goalkeeper, but I think his temperament lets him down sometimes.

“In a tournament where you could play seven games, there are going to be setbacks. You need a goalkeeper who can calm his team-mates down. I think Pickford does the opposite and that’s where my worries and question marks come in. I don’t think England win a big title with Pickford.”

England’s defense is the area that has been most questioned ahead of the tournament. Kieran Trippier will play at left back, while Kyle Walker will be on the opposite flank. Liverpool’s Joe Gomez is an option at centre-back, but Southgate is expected to select John Stones and Marc Guehi at the center of his backline with Harry Maguire injured.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, meanwhile, will partner Declan Rice in midfield behind an exciting front four of Bukayo Saka, Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Harry Kane. Liverpool’s number 66 will wear the number eight on his back and is expected to line up with Rice as a double pivot where his passing range could help England break down packed defences.
