Premier League trio set to destroy Leeds United’s transfer plans and rub the wounds of Wembley failure

Leeds United’s hopes of securing a return for Joe Rodon have been dealt a significant blow with three Premier League sides keen on the Wales international.

According to our colleagues at football.london, Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton are monitoring the defender, who made 50 appearances for the Whites last season as they progressed to the Championship play-off final at Wembley.

Leeds are still very keen on the 26-year-old, who is believed to have enjoyed his time in West Yorkshire. Indeed, had they secured promotion to the Premier League, Daniel Farke’s side would likely have been favorites to get a deal over the line.

However, their failure at Wembley has clearly weakened their position in light of so much interest, and three of the teams who managed to get Leeds promoted last term now appear to be looking at the chance to further rub their wounds .

Losing Rodon to Southampton would obviously be particularly painful, but Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna is also understood to be a big fan of the centre-back and could see Welsh as the ideal fit as they look to build a team capable of competing. in the Premier League.

Leicester’s recruitment team have similarly admired him and could be in a strong position with two of Rodon’s former bosses currently among the names in the frame to take over from Enzo Maresca, who left to join Chelsea at the start of the summer.

Graham Potter and Steve Cooper have both been heavily linked and if either takes the reins they could strengthen the Foxes position.
