Three have been arrested in Leeds city center after a teenager suffered knife wounds

Three teenagers have been arrested after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in Leeds city centre.

Officers were called to reports of a fight at the junction of Briggate and Kirkgate at around 6.30pm BST on Thursday and a 19-year-old man was arrested over the incident, police said.

A 16-year-old boy, who was punched in the face and stabbed in the hand, was taken to hospital.

He was later arrested along with a second 16-year-old boy.

The 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of affray, possession of cannabis with intent to supply and possession of an offensive weapon, according to West Yorkshire Police.

The injured boy was arrested on suspicion of affray, while the other 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of affray, possession of a knife and possession of cannabis.

A knife and bags of cannabis were found near the scene, officers said.

All those arrested remained in custody, they added.
