Manhunt in Coventry leads to more arrests

Several unnamed people are in custody following a manhunt in Coventry.

Vermont State Police say there was a “dispute involving firearms” shortly before 1pm Sunday on Spencer Hill Road. When troopers arrived, they found two men with non-life threatening injuries and saw several people with guns running into nearby woods.

The police quickly caught one of the suspects, but it took an extensive search of the surrounding area to catch the others; they say they arrested the last one around 4:30 p.m. Route 14 was closed from Blake Road to Hancock Hill Road for several hours due to that search.

Investigators say although they never fired any shots, they used flash-bang grenades that could be heard nearby. They also expect to release additional information once criminal charges are filed.
