Every sandwich and wrapper from Aldi, Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s recalled amid e. coli contamination fears

People have been warned not to eat more of the produce amid concerns they could be contaminated with a potentially serious bacteria. Dozens of people have been hospitalized since May 25 with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC).

The latest figures, which were published on June 6, showed that 113 people had been recorded with the infection. Health chiefs said they were working urgently to find the source of the outbreak and issued guidance on how to reduce the risk of contamination.

On Friday, the Food Safety Agency began publishing a list of products that have been recalled, including from Aldi, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Boots, amid concerns they could be contaminated with E. coli. Amazon, One Stop, Co-op and WH Smith have also recalled sandwiches and wraps.

The FSA said that although E. coli was not detected in the products, they were being recalled as a precaution. And he said people who ate the infected product were at risk of becoming potentially seriously ill.

It warned: Symptoms caused by STEC organisms include severe diarrhea (including bloody diarrhea), abdominal pain, and sometimes hemolytic uremic syndrome, (HUS), a serious condition that can lead to kidney failure and be fatal.” It added: “If you have bought any of the above products do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.”

On Monday, the FSA added to the recalled food, THIS IS NOT A CHICKEN AND BACON WRAP, sold at WH Smith. Here’s a full list of every sandwich and wrap that has been recalled
