The Met Office weather verdict for Yorkshire this week, with a ‘dark’ start.

Wetter weather and even thunder is heading for Yorkshire this week after days of rain.

Wetter conditions have been recorded in the county in recent days, mixed with some drier days and a few sunny periods. Some regions even saw thunderstorms amid the unsettled conditions. This weather will continue this week with rain and thunder expected to hit Yorkshire.




According to the Met Office, the weather will be “dark” today with rain, sunshine and scattered showers throughout the day. These are expected to be heavy at times and “potentially thundery”.

The Met Office said: “A rather cloudy start with outbreaks of rain clearing to sunny spells and scattered showers, these heavy and potentially thundery at times. Maximum temperature 19°C”.

Meanwhile, the rest of the week will also be variable weather with possible thunderstorms. The Met Office said: “Sun and showers on Tuesday, possibly strong and thundery.

“Wednesday drier, but isolated light showers possible. Dry likely with sunny spells Thursday. Temperatures near average.”
