Police say ‘call 999’ as 13-year-old schoolboy goes missing in Birmingham

A schoolboy aged just 13 has gone missing from home – and may be in the Birmingham area, police believe. Named only as Ibai, the boy disappeared from Telford.

He is believed to have traveled to Birmingham, making his way to Acocks Green or Shirley. West Midlands Police issued an urgent appeal for information, along with a photograph of the boy, in an attempt to find him.

The appeal on social media urged anyone who sees Ibai to “call 999”. It is not known how long he has been missing, but Birmingham Police posted the alert today, Monday, June 17.

A brief description was provided in the appeal, which states the boy is 5ft 1in and has a Spanish accent.

The missing call, posted on X, formerly Twitter, read: “Have you seen Ibai? The 13-year-old is missing from Telford but we believe he could be in the Birmingham area and may have made his way to Acocks Green or Shirley.

“He is 5ft 1ins and has a Spanish accent. If you see him call 999 quoting PID 447720.”
