Cate Blanchett halts parking plans at £1.6m Cornwall home amid row with neighbors

Karen Burgess, a local holiday rental owner, claimed the project had cost her £60,000 in lost income due to noise and called on officials to “severely restrict” the days any further work could take place .

“I am deeply concerned that there has already been a total disregard for noise that has ruined the family holidays of all my guests throughout 2023,” she said.

“The losses are over £60,000 last year and yet we have to advertise as a property affected by building noise.

“I thought the work (on Blanchett’s property) was finally done and now there is a new application for groundwork. This work should not be allowed during the holidays.”

She said locals in the bay had never witnessed “such blatant disregard” for the tourists who visit the holiday area and bring vital business to many holiday homes and hotels.
