The Sheffield food hall will be the largest in Europe, the operator says

A food hall said to be ‘Europe’s biggest’ is set to open in Sheffield later this month.

Cambridge Street Collective will launch in the city on May 23, with 20 vendors, bars and rooftop terraces.

Operator Blend Family, which also runs Sheffield food court Cutlery Works, said the business was “Europe’s largest purpose-built food court”.

Family events, live music and independent monthly markets were planned for the 20,000 square meter site, the company said.

According to Blend, the food hall was conceived as a social and communal destination and would showcase “the best emerging food and drink talent.”

It will also host the social enterprise, Blend Culinary Foundation Community Kitchen.

The food hall will feature a barbecue and sushi dining space, four bars, augmented reality darts, a children’s play area, outdoor seating and rooftop terraces.

Vendors will offer food from around the world, including West Africa, China, Mexico and Pakistan.

Matt Bigland, founder and CEO at Blend Family, said: β€œSheffield is our home and bringing Europe’s largest purpose-built food hall to our city is really exciting.

β€œOur aim is to bring together a community of talented food entrepreneurs, representing Sheffield’s diverse crisis, providing high-quality opportunities for our city’s food talent and giving guests a trip around the globe, here in Sheffield, a taste of to our amazing city. Diverse DNA”.
